We first shared this lesson during our visit to Snoqualmie Falls and Candy Shop, near Seattle Washington. There are more things to experience than we will ever have the time to experience them in, but we can enjoy them one at a time.
In this episode, Sione interviews Alana on one of her favorite lessons, “It’s better to focus on the progress over the done”.
By applying this lesson you can eliminate the stress, overwhelm, and constant feelings of being behind by shifting your focus from the end results to the opportunities to make progress.
Another by product of focusing on the progress instead of the done is the ability to add more joy back into the journey and greater potential for increasing your confidence as well.

Want to practice applying this lesson in your life? Do this:
- Download and use our 100 day habit tracker
- Set an alarm to go off a few times a day to practice “Progress Mindfulness”. Whenever the alarm goes off take some time to ask yourself, “What have I learned so far today?” or “How have I made progress in achieving my dream life today?” or “How am I growing?” or “Am I forcing something to happen and need to take a step back?”
- Download one of our Be Grateful Always screensavers and use it as your phones lock screen. Whenever you see it, ask and answer one of the questions. Those questions can also be used as journal prompts at the end of each day.
